VictoriaMetrics: Vmstorage on VM and VMselect on k8s not able to connect

I have deployed vmselect & vminsert on k8s via the helm chart using vmstorage on vm. telnet to vmstorage vm from vmselect pod works

But while I try to hit the path /select/0/prometheus/api/v1/labels on the vmselect I get the below response
