brave-browser: Unable to download/start torrent process w/Webtorrent extension

Description

The webtorrent extension appears to get “stuck” on Loading torrent files when attempting to download/view torrents via magnet links or direct torrent downloads.

Steps to Reproduce

Visit any torrent website
Attempt to download a torrent file
Click “start torrent” – observe the processes gets stuck at Loading torrent files

Actual result:

Expected result:

Torrent files should start downloading.

Reproduces how often:

Always

Brave version (brave://version info)

Version 1.32.113 Chromium: 96.0.4664.45 (Official Build) (x86_64)

I got solution! … If you have running some other Torrent download program, for example qBitTorrent… close it and restart Brave… Youre welcome

Hmm, it is looks like the bug is still in place and not fixed… Running the latest (for now: Jun 2 2022):

Version 1.39.111 Chromium: 102.0.5005.61 (Official Build) (x86_64)](https://brave.com/latest/) on Mac: mcOS Catalina (10.15.7)

It’s also not a solution but a workaround, the bug still exists. I’ve never once had it work for me, running torrent clients or not.

Yeah, the proper solution is to fix the problem or remove the feature. I don’t understand why this issue is closed.

I tried https://webtorrent.io/free-torrents on Nightly(Mac and Windows) and Release(Windows), both works fine for me. There is a separate issue that sometimes a blank page might be showing on Windows with a console error, but seems can be resolved if you reload the page. I have not been able to reproduce getting stuck at Loading torrent files.

I’m able to reproduce with all of these torrents on latest Brave stable

I just verified that the URL works fine with Transmission.
