desktop: cannot redirect back to Desktop Client after signing into Github account on browser

Describe the bug

Version & OS

App image of Desktop 2.6.1 for linux, OS is Ubuntu 18.04.5 LTS

Steps to reproduce the behavior

1. Use Brave Version 1.2.43 as default browser.
2. Open App Image
3. Click “Sign into Github.com”
4. Get redirect to Brave, turn off the shield and sign in
5. Get prompt “Open xdg-open?” Click “open xdg-open”
6. nothing happens, the Desktop client gets stuck in loading state waiting for signing in

Expected behavior

I expect to be redirected back to desktop client and get signed in smoothly.

Actual behavior

Nothing happens.
