openui5: Extremely slow page scrolling starting UI5 1.88 on Chrome 94+ with `smooth-scrolling` flag enabled
OpenUI5 version: 1.88+
Browser/version (+device/version): Chrome 94+ with smooth-scrolling flag enabled.
Any other tested browsers/devices(OK/FAIL):
- Chrome DEV without
smooth-scrollingflag enabled: OK
Steps to reproduce the problem:
- Install Chrome 94+
- Enable
chrome://flags/#smooth-scrollingand restart Chrome - Open https://openui5nightly.hana.ondemand.com/1.87.10/#/topic/c72b922fdb59422496661000165d7ff1
- Scroll (with a mouse scroller) the page with a mouse scrolling, it should be fast
- Open https://openui5nightly.hana.ondemand.com/1.88.0/#/topic/c72b922fdb59422496661000165d7ff1 (and later)
- Scroll (with a mouse scroller) the page
What is the expected result? It should be the same as for 1.87.10 and earlier.
What happens instead? It is extremely slow.
Any other information? (attach screenshot if possible) I’ve tried on Edge 92/93, it looks like OK.
On Chrome 94+ without smooth-scrolling flag enabled it is also OK.
Initially I assumed, it might be an Chrome issue only, but since 1.87.10 and earlier has no issue with the scrolling, I think it worth checking by the UI5 team firstly, perhaps, a cross-ticket at Chrome team required as well.
Important to stress, under scrolling I mean a scroll with a mouse scroller, not a moving the scroll bar.

At first I thought they were trying to simulate the scrolling behaviour of the SAP GUI. Would have been a perfect April Fools joke. But it’s real…
I’m experiencing the same problem, using Chrome Beta (94). Basically every ObjectPageLayout is affected. The question is, if this can really be solved by chrome, if only SAPUI5 is affected and only specific controls?
