About this issue

Most upvoted comments

I have found a solution for my crashes and also a workaround.

After 30 days without a crash I feel safe to blame the BIOS feature “Core Performance Boost” (CPB). After turning CPB OFF my RuneLite crashes on both Windows 11 and Linux have stopped entirely. CPB is ON by default for my mobo (Asus). Turning off CPB is a fair performance loss for me, so keep that in mind.

Alternatively, I was able to use the 32bit RuneLite client stably for over a month with CPB ON. However I still experienced rare stability issues with other programs likely due to CPB.

So CPB was the cause for me, turning it OFF has stopped my crashes. If you don’t want to do that you can use the 32bit RuneLite but you will probably still have subtle instability. Hope this helps, good luck!

Here is a list of most of my PC’s components, along with my most recent crash, GC, client, and launcher logs. Perhaps there is some other common factor here.

System.txt

client.log launcher.log jvm_crash_pid_11312.log gc (3).log MemTest86-Report-20230627-175827.txt

I hope this information helps to solve the issue, and if there is anything else I can do to help expedite this process, let me know.

Added Memtest86 pass report

I had previously through this crash to be related to either of the GPU plugins (GPU, 117HD), but now I have had the crash happen with RuneLite in Safe mode, which has these plugins disabled (afaik).

Safe mode logs (debug): jvm_crash_pid_1056.log

(if any of these debugging logs contain concerning personal info please remove)

I recommend anyone having this issue run a couple passes of MemTest86 to ensure their RAM is functioning properly.

RAM issues can have all sorts of niche impacts, and it is a comforting thing to rule out.

I also ran a Prime95 + Furmark test in hope to rule out GPU/CPU faults as well.

Did you find a solution? I also imagine it’s due to some sort of memory optimization/pc optimization. I have a Ryzen 9 5900x and 32GB RAM but constantly crash…

I’ve been getting this crash periodically as well. I’m using an Intel i7-12700k with 32 GB of RAM and an RTX 3080ti. I’ve noticed the crash more consistently with the Plank Sack plugin installed and in use at time of crash. It also seems to be when I have Discord running in the background, as I see the Discord RPC service entries in the client log with my Discord username.

jvm_crash_pid_21816.log

Here is all my logs and my last 5 crashes. Please if anyone is reading this, please help. It crashes at the worst times it makes me so sad. launcher.log client.log jvm_crash_pid_1136.log jvm_crash_pid_8780.log jvm_crash_pid_10892.log jvm_crash_pid_13560.log jvm_crash_pid_13976.log

Still crashing, usually wont crash for a while when I first start my computer but then once it crashes, it keeps crashing about every 10 min

jvm_crash_pid_28252.log Here is a jvm crash log I found in the discord from an Intel processor, wanted to link the log here to provide more information in one spot.

Here is a list of things I tried that did not work. Maybe you can retry some of them, or at the very least it’s more info. Many of these items are now known to be irrelevant

Again, this is a list of things that DID NOT fix it.

Is there anything I can try because my issue was a duplicate and closed but there is nothing on this page that is helpful. I’ve tried updating drivers, uninstalling java / reinstalling java and runelite and runescape, and finally I reinstalled windows but my game still crashing every 20 min and it is making the game unplayable. Any help would be appreciated .

Updated BIOS and reverted GPU driver to a more stable version, haven’t crashed since then so that may have resolved the issue. I recommend anyone running into this to do the same

As noted in #16341, it seems like these crashes are all coming from Ryzen processors. Figured I’d repost this observation here since this is the main tracking issue

I’ve had some luck with it not crashing at all today.

If you’re using the exe, try uninstalling it. Install jdk 13 x64, and try using the runelite.jar from the downloads page.

That has worked for me, so far today at least.
