powerlevel10k: Still slow after configuring Instant Prompt?
Hi there,
Just discovering this project, which looks great! Went on to install, and got disappointed to see that the Instant Prompt feature, the main selling point, doesn’t work as expected.
From what I see things seem to be installed correctly after the wizard, with the special lines for instant prompt at the start of my .zshrc. I tried the verbosity level with POWERLEVEL9K_INSTANT_PROMPT=verbose both before and after the lines, to no avail, silence (and indeed usually none of the scripts I load produces any output).
My .zshrc loads a few things indeed, like nvm, conda, and a custom oh-my-zsh config. I can see how things speed up when I comment out these sourcing calls, but as things stands the Instant Prompt effect does not seem to appear.
Oh, and I’m on Ubuntu + Gnome Terminal.
Any idea what I’m doing wrong? Thanks a lot in advance!

TIL about a bug in zsh 5.4.1 that I didn’t know existed. I added a workaround that might help. Please update powerlevel10k and let me know if it did indeed help.
This bug might cause issues in other places in powerlevel10k. If anything else pops up, I’ll raise the minimum required version to something less ancient.
