gocryptfs: recover from missing or corrupt gocryptfs.diriv
Now that I learned how to restore gocryptfs.conf just with the master key I am wondering how this is going for gocryptfs.diriv. I am not sure what gocryptfs.diriv is good for, but without it I can not write to the decrypted folder. How can I recover from a missing or corrupt gocryptfs.diriv?

This is very important information which should be shared at a prominent position in the documentation. It makes gocryptfs.diriv a single point of failure. As soon as this is gone my picture gallery with thousands of *.CR2 files and corresponding *.xmp files is destroyed. No chance to recover.
The gocryptfs documentation basically says that all you need to recover a gocryptfs container is the master key. That is surely wrong and needs clarification from my point of view.
