vscode: Code won't open / stays entirely black

image

This is what happens when starting Code. It seems like I am able to “use” the black frame, the way one would expect (e.g. window closes when clicking to the position where the red “X” would normally be). I couldn’t get it working, neither 32-bit nor System-Installation, nor a mix (I tried every single combination). They all do the same after setup, also reboot (except for sometimes there is no output to console window even when launching --verbose). Interesting Part is: Code-Insiders still does the job for me (tested only with 12.29.2 x64 - user installation)

  • VSCode Version: 12.28.2 (Any Version)
  • OS Version: Windows 10 Ent 1709 (Help Report not available)

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Start Vscode.

Just had this occur on v1.35.1 so it’s still happening. --disable-gpu does still work, though.
