xbar: xbar not starting on macOS Ventura
I just did a fresh install with brew, running version 2.1.7-beta on macOS Ventura 13.0.1.
When I start xbar, it asks for the Automation -> System Events
permissions, but nothing else apparently happens: No app window opening, nothing in the status bar.
There’s three processes running for xbar, visible in the Activity Monitor:
data:
xbar Networking
xbar
Running it in the Terminal shows
❯ ./xbar
xbar v2.1.7-beta
2022/11/29 11:28:40 checking for updates... (current: v2.1.7-beta)
2022/11/29 11:28:40 updates: passive true
2022/11/29 11:28:40 updates: AutoUpdate false
2022/11/29 11:28:41 update: you have the latest version
Any help with this or info how I can further debug this is appreciated.

same on Monterey 12.6
Now I can cofirm, that xbar is working on my 16" MBP (2021) native on Ventura 13.5.1. I cannot explain - there was no change / update from xbar. Maybe the fix came with a newer Ventura-Release. Is there also anybody with the same hardware and can confirm??
Reopen as per https://github.com/matryer/xbar/issues/863#issuecomment-1422622240
I had same problem, in my case it appears that osx decided there is not enough space left in tray (but it was visually enough) and wasn’t displaying the icon. After closing half of apps with tray icons, xbar finally appeared in tray.
