It feels a bit racy. This doesn’t happen on every run.

What you expected to happen: CoreDNS add-on to be created.

How to reproduce it (as minimally and precisely as possible): kubeadm init using rc.1.

Forgot to mention: After deleting the CoreDNS configmap, I was able to re-install CoreDNS using kubeadm.

probably best to wait for the api-server and etcd pods to be ready and not the node object to appear.

In talos we do not use systemd, it is an init system we wrote.

i will do some testing myself in about 30 minutes.
