supervisor: 'AddonManager.update' blocked from execution, no host internet connection

Describe the issue you are experiencing

On Supervisor reload internet connection is good enough - no errosrs:

HA manage to get list of updates (show available new versions), but fails to proceed with actual add-on update:

Supervisor getting list of new versions and show available updates in UI. But fails to proceed with actual update.

After full HOST restart - Supervisor managed to update one add-on. Next day message

'AddonManager.update' blocked from execution, no host internet connection

appears again !!!

No such a problem occured till supervisor-6.8, starting from Year 2021 ~January.

So far looks good. 24hours after wlan0/eth0 have no more the same IP address - host internet connectivity still full.

As well on phpMyAdmin add-on restart - looks no default interface flapping anymore happens.

Root cause is a command line sensor:

In my case, this message appears due to the fact that when contacting https://version.home-assistant.io/online.txt , it issues hCAPTCHA, so HAOS does not receive the desired response “NetworkManager is online”.

This is my problem. Having connected via VPN, everything works correctly.

Question: how to convince hCAPTCHA that I am not a bot and remove my IP from blocking?

Hello,

I had the same problem (running home assistant os). I found out that in my case, Network Manager on the host system showed the connection status as “limited”, which is translated to host_internet: false by the supervisor.

I am not sure why this was the case. In the host system, I could resolve the connectivity check host name “version.home-assistant.io” using nslookup. However, when I tried to fetch the URL “http://version.home-assistant.io/online.txt” via curl, it failed with an error message that the host could not be resolved.

What resolved the issue in the end was to switch off IPv6 for the (WLAN) connection via nmcli:

nmcli c modify <connection> ipv6.method "disabled"

followed by

nmcli connection up <connection>.

After that, “nmcli g status” showed full connectivity again, and so did “ha network info”, and I could update add-ons and the core.

It would still be nice to find out what the problem is, I suspect some issue with my DNS configuration.
