Z-Wave JS version 1.4.0 includes Z-Wave JS Server 1.0.0 which is incompatible with current stable HA release. So please do not yet update if you’re running the stable (2021.2.x) version of HA.

Next HA release (2021.3) will be compatible again. Beta will be released today.

Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

I am on beta2 and 2.0.0 for zwave js 2 mqtt and the duplicate entities went away and the devices are responsive now. All is fixed! thanks a lot. For reference I updated to each beta of HA as it came out (b0,b1,b2). All original entities are back as they were.

make sure to use latest version of the Z-Wave JS server in combination with beta2 So, either 0.1.10 for the official Z-Wave JS add-on or 2.0.0 for Z-Wave JS 2 MQTT (a new add-on version will be published soon)
