FreeRDP: Unable to connect with FreeRDP3 using /sec:rdp
Describe the bug Starting from FreeRDP 3 I cannot connect to a Windows Server that has only support for /sec:rdp. Also when connecting using /sec:rdp I still get a pop-up to enter credentials (for NLA I guess?) which is disabled on purpose on the Windows Server.
To Reproduce Steps to reproduce the behavior: Connect to a Windows Server that has TLS and NLA disabled. flatpak run com.freerdp.FreeRDP /v:ip_address /sec:rdp
Enter credentials in the pop-up that follows. No connection is possible.
Expected behavior I expected it to:
- Not prompt for credentials as no NLA should be used.
- Make a connection to the server.
When connecting using FreeRDP 2 xfreerdp /v:ip_address /sec:rdp
It just works.
Application details For FreeRDP 3 i’m using the latest flatpak version 3.3.0. For FreeRDP 2 i’m using the latest version available 2.11.5

will have a look.
@ndonkersloot you can build a flatpak from source, just check out and run:
(requires
flatpak-builderandflatpakinstalled)install the bundle created and run that one. (you have the improved logging from
masternow, maybe something will tell you what is wrong)@ndonkersloot you might want to try with a build from master though, I´ve added additional logging with https://github.com/FreeRDP/FreeRDP/pull/9943 that might be helpful
@akallabeth In my case it does not, that’s the main reason why I created this issue. I’ve created a video file showcasing my issue. freerdp.webm
I’ve also added a trace log. I have this with multiple server, but for this example I only focus on one. trace.log
@ndonkersloot it does work, it is just insecure.
