Action Performed:
- Copy the text with markdown (** for bold, __ for italics, `` for code) and navigate to ND chat
- Paste the text that was previously copied with CTRL + SHIFT + V or paste it by right clicking and selecting “Paste as plain text” (“Paste and Match Style”)
- Verify the text is pasted without any markdown into the compose box

Not all markdown is removed. Removed only ``, characters ** and __ are left in the text.

Oh man, this issue is getting confusing.
@kadiealexander that’s not totally correct, no. In your second video, you are making the same mistake that the previous commenter did as well, by thinking that our markdown is the same as the markdown supported by GitHub. What you’re doing is an invalid test.
You can see in my video from this comment, the proper way to test this.
Since I still don’t think there is a bug here, and everyone got really confused as to what is actually a problem and what isn’t, I’m going to close this out and chalk it up to an unclear bug report.
That looks like something completely different than what this issue is about. We don’t support GH markdown.

CTRL + SHIFT + Vshould just extract text without any styles, that’s not happening here.
