An error is shown saying UID 1000 not found in precise

and when it try to download stuff from archive.ubuntu.com it stays at 0% forever not moving

According to its description, the extension target provides -

  • ‘Clipboard synchronization and URL handling with Chromium OS.’

So you use it to cut-n-paste to/from your chroot(s) and CrOS along with handy things like Chromium OS URL handling, notifications, and clipboard synchronization to crouton.

It’s especially handy and required with the ‘xiwi’ xmethod along with the ‘crouton integration’ extension that allows you to launch your desktop in a window, full-screen, or in a tab.
