podman: Error: exec: "qemu-system-x86_64": executable file not found in $PATH after installing via homebrew on MacOS Monterey

Description

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Install homebrew

2. run brew install podman

3. run podman machine init

Describe the results you received:

Error: exec: "qemu-system-x86_64": executable file not found in $PATH

Describe the results you expected:

Downloading VM image: fedora-coreos-35.20220103.2.0-qemu.x86_64.qcow2.xz

Additional information you deem important (e.g. issue happens only occasionally):

The fix was running brew link qemu && brew reinstall qemu but it would be ideal if this wasn’t necessary.

Error when trying to start the machine after running brew link qemu and before brew reinstall qemu

I’m not yet sure if this is reproducible, if not I will close this but hoping this would provide some help if someone runs into the same issue.
